VIRGINIA BEACH
Police have identified two people found dead in a Timberlake home Thursday morning and are calling their deaths a murder-suicide.
The victims are Judith K. Osborne, 66, and David S. Osborne, 78, both of the 4000 block of Barkleaf Drive in Virginia Beach, according to a news release from police. They both died of gunshot wounds, police said.
The shooting was the result of a domestic issue, police said. David Osborne shot his wife and then himself, said Officer Jimmy Barnes, a police spokesman.
An officer discovered the Osborne's bodies inside their home shortly before noon Thursday after receiving a request that someone check on their welfare. They have adult children, Barnes said.
This is the sixth murder-suicide reported in South Hampton Roads since early December.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
