Posted: 04/01/2011 04:27:35 PM PDT A man who killed his Rialto girlfriend and left her body in the High Desert was sentenced Friday to 11 years in state prison. Tyrell Curtis Webb, 24, was sentenced before Judge Bryan Foster in San Bernardino Superior Court under the terms of a plea bargain reached with prosecutors March 3, according to court records. Webb pleaded guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter in the death of 20-year-old Thaisha Rameau last August, according to court records. Her body was found at 11:48 a.m. Aug. 25 near Dale Evans Parkway and the 15 Freeway, in Apple Valley.
Webb reportedly killed the woman inside her car, possibly in Rialto or San Bernardino, and then drove her body to the High Desert, according to sheriff's detectives. The defendant then drove the car back to Rialto, parked it in front of the victim's home and left. Detectives arrested Bell (sic Webb?), a transient from the San Bernardino area, after finding him two days later at a friend's house in Highland.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
