The couple found dead Monday afternoon at an Aurora Avenue North motel were Fabian O. Hudson, 39, and Celeste Pond, 31, according to the King County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police believe Hudson killed Pond before taking his own life. She died of multiple gunshot wounds; his cause and manner of death is pending investigation, a medical examiner's spokeswoman said
The bodies of the couple, known as City and Cece to neighbors, had stayed for days in Unit 11 of the Way West Motel at 8600 Aurora Ave. N. Residents had noticed the smell, and were shocked to hear of the deaths.
At 12:24 p.m., police received a call from the motel manager saying he'd found the two dead. Hudson was found on the couch.
Four years ago Wednesday, Hudson was charged with first-degree assault. He pleaded guilty later that year.
Following that assault in the 9400 block of Ravenna Avenue Northeast - part of Lake City - the Wisconsin native fled to Racine, Wis., and was arrested after a lead was sent by the Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force. Detailed court documents from the assault case were not available late Tuesday night.
Last August, Hudson was cited for driving with a suspended license and later pleaded guilty.
Pond had a criminal history that included convictions for theft and prostitution.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
