A man was shot to death early Sunday in eastern Hays County, officials said.
The sheriff's office received a call about 3 a.m. of a shooting in the 100 block of Kai Vista Drive. There were two homes on the property: one occupied by a female landlord and the second by a woman estranged from her husband, officials said.
The husband showed up at the property early Sunday, and the landowner ordered him off the property, according to the sheriff's office. The landowner was armed with a shotgun, and a shot was fired during their encounter, officials said. The husband was hit once and died.
The sheriff's office has not released the names of the people involved in the incident, pending further investigation.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
