KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A Kalamazoo woman who is accused of killing her ex-boyfriend will head to court Monday.
Alison Martin is charged with murder and conspiracy. Prosecutors say she and her fiancee, Justin Terpstra, killed Brandon Silverlight back in November.
Terpstra faces the same charges.
Investigators say Martin had a past relationship with Silverlight and think a love triangle may have been the motive.
They say she met up with Silverlight at a South Haven restaurant the day of the murder. Then they went to a mobile home park where Terpstra was waiting to attack.
Detectives believe after the couple killed Silverlight they set him and his car on fire to cover up the evidence.
Monday a judge will decide if there's enough evidence to send Martin to trial.
