NORFOLK
Police have identified the couple involved in what they believe to be a murder-suicide that took place on the 300 block of Peace Haven Drive on Sunday.
Robert Klosterman, 64, is believed to be the suspect, and his wife, Rebecca, 57, was the victim, said police spokesman Chris Amos.
Klosterman was the first commanding officer of the aircraft carrier John C. Stennis. He served in that post between 1995 and 1997, according to published reports.
Police received a call around 10 a.m. Sunday from an individual that sounded "despondent," Amos said. He asked police to respond to his residence.
When police arrived, they made several attempts to contact the home’s occupants without success. When they entered the home, they discovered the bodies.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
