Police have arrested an Orem man suspected of stabbing his wife to death.
Roberto Aguirre Ramirez, 27, was jailed Sunday on suspicion of killing Norma Villalobos-Guzman on Jan. 5.
Villalobos-Guzman, 36, died after being stabbed once in the chest, police have said. Ramirez also suffered serious stab wounds.
A roommate heard the couple arguing and called his wife, who called police to report the Monday fight at their home, near 500 East and 100 South, Orem police have said.
Villalobos-Guzman and Ramirez were taken to the hospital, where Villalobos-Guzman later died during surgery.
Villalobos-Guzman lived in the country illegally, police have said. U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents also are investigating Ramirez.
Villalobos-Guzman went by more than a dozen aliases and initially was identified as 26-year-old Leticia Aguirre, another Orem resident. After Aguirre's family rushed to the police station, police determined Aguirre was alive and learned Villalobos-Guzman's true name.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
