An ex-boyfriend was arrested Tuesday in connection with the slaying of a 23-year-old woman who was found shot to death in her car with her unharmed 2-year-old daughter near her.
Tempe Police arrested Victor Martinez Jr. at 4 a.m. Tuesday in connection with the slaying of Christina Hallman, of Phoenix.
Employees of an unidentified business in an industrial area near Guadalupe Road and I-10 in Tempe discovered the victim and her daughter in her car as they were reporting for work Monday morning.
The victim's relatives told police that Hallman had gone Sunday afternoon to pick up belongings from Martinez' house after ending a three-month relationship. When they didn't hear from her, they contacted Phoenix Police to report her missing, and Hallman was entered in a missing person database.
A Tempe Police spokesman would not say where the location of the victim's body in her car, and did not know if the toddler was strapped in a safety seat.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
