MANHATTAN BEACH - Two young people were discovered shot to death inside a residence during a welfare check, a sheriff's official said.
Sheriff's officials say the deaths appear to have been a murder-suicide.
The bodies of a 24 year old man and 22 year old woman were discovered by Manhattan Beach police officers in a residence in the 300 block of Second Street around 11:25 a.m. Sunday, according to Deputy Ed Hernandez of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
Neighbors told KTLA that the two people were a couple and that the 24 year old man was a former marine.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, but authorities have not released any further details.
The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department is investigating the incident.
