Louisville, KY: Arrest made in first Metro homicide of 2010
Metro police have made an arrest in the first homicide of 2010.
27-year-old Nicholas Salfi of Washington County is charged with killing his ex-girlfriend inside her home on Cain Lane at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday. Police said Salfi is the father of a newborn baby that was in the home at the time.
Police said Salfi got into a fight with a woman and another man around 3:00 a.m. Saturday. When police responded, they found the woman, in her mid-20’s, dead and the other man with serious injuries.
“The male subject advised that there had been an altercation with a fourth subject. That man ran to go get help. He’s the one who called 911,” police said.
Salfi is charged with murder, attempted murder and tampering with physical evidence.
Police have not identified the woman or the injured man.
