CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) - Corinth Police say the death of a couple in the city Sunday appears to be a case of murder suicide.
Officers found the bodies of 39 year old Brad Johnson and 29 year old Amanda Johnson under the carport of an apartment at 1609 Madison Street just after five oclock last night. Police say the couple was apparently in the process of going through a divorce. Investigators say it appears Brad Johnson, who lived on Linden Street, parked about a half a mile from the apartment, and hid behind the side of the home until Amanda Johnson returned home. Witnesses say when he approached her, she told him to leave. Johnson apparently shot her once in the chest, then shot himself in the head. Officers found his body lying on top of hers when they arrived at the scene. The shooting remains under investigation.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
