A stabbing death taken off the city’s homicide tally was placed back today after the victim’s girlfriend was charged with first-degree murder.
City police have charged 21-year-old Tanaya Salter of the 5200 block of Goodnow Road in the June 30 killing of Gerrod Finch, 21, in West Baltimore. Finch’s death was removed from the homicide count weeks ago, with police indicating that the killing was an act of self-defense. But after interviewing additional witnesses, prosecutors and detectives determined that there was enough evidence to charge Salter with first-degree murder.
