DETROIT - Detroit police say a 14-year-old fatally stabbed his mother's boyfriend after the man attacked them.
Sgt. Alan Quinn says the teen stabbed the 32-year-old man in the chest after both he and his mother, also 32, were assaulted by the man in their east-side home early Wednesday.
Quinn tells the Detroit Free Press the man was drunk at the time.
Police questioned the teenager later Wednesday and released him to his mother. The case will be turned over to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office for a final decision on charges.
