A Wilmington man has been arrested and charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of his wife, according to a news release overnight from the Wilmington Police Department.
Police responded at 4:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon to assist EMS at 219 S. Kerr, Lot 5. Inside the mobile home at the address, responders found a woman, Diane Clemmons Belton, 55, dead from a single gunshot wound to the head.
The victim's husband, Davis Ray Belton, 65, was held for questioning. Late Sunday, he was charged with second degree murder.
