MOORE, Okla. -- It was a tense scene in a Moore neighborhood Saturday afternoon after a domestic dispute escalated into a four hour standoff with police. Around 2 P.M. Moore Police responded to a call in the 500 block of Kelsi Drive in the Rock Creek subdivision.
Police say when they arrived, a gunshot was heard from inside the home.
A perimeter was set up and investigators attempted to make contact with the man inside the house.
Lieutenant Ted Belling with Moore Police Department says, "This is the third time we have responded to a call to this house since last April. The first few were with the wife, this incident involved than man's girlfriend."
After four hours, police entered the residence through the attic and discovered the man was dead.
The medical examiner's office has been called to determine the exact cause of the man's death.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
