Dyer, Ind. police and the Lake County (Ind.) Crime Lab are investigating an apparent murder-suicide Friday in the northwest Indiana town.
A spokesman for the Lake County Coroner’s Office said investigators were called to a Dyer home about 9 p.m. Friday, where they found two people dead from gunshot wounds.
Mayumi Hashimoto, 44, who lived at the address, sustained a gunshot wound to the head. A second individual, David Henry, 45, of the same address, was also dead from a gunshot wound to the head, the spokesman said.
Henry’s gunshot wound was self-inflicted, he said.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
