FAIRFIELD -- A Fairfield man fatally shot his wife and then killed himself as two of the couple's children were in their house and a third was arriving home, police said Friday.
Officers responding to reports of gunshots on the 300 block of Tulip Street at 6:40 p.m. Thursday found 38-year-old Adam Turner and his wife, Cassandra Turner, 39, in the garage. Both had been shot in the torso and died at the scene.
Two of the couple's children were in the house unharmed. A third walked up to the home just as the last shot was fired, police said.
In interviewing the children and one other witness, police determined that Adam Turner had shot his wife of eight years during an argument before shooting himself.
The children's ages were not released. They are staying with family members, police said.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
