A 49-year-old Easley man has been indicted on murder and arson charges after authorities said he was linked to his wife’s death in July, SLED said Tuesday.
Don Kinsela is accused in the fire that caused the death of his wife, Cheryl Kinsela, according to Jennifer Timmons, a spokeswoman for SLED, and a spokesman for the Pickens County Detention Center.
He is charged with arson after authorities alleged that he set a fire at 131 Beverly Drive in Easley, the officials said.
The case has been investigated by SLED, the DEA, Pickens County sheriff’s deputies and Easley firefighters, Timmons said.
Kinsela is charged with setting fire to a “storage-type” building that was located near the home they shared, she said.
The 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the case.
Kinsela was arrested and was being held without bond in the Pickens County Detention Center, a jail spokesman said.
He hasn’t had a bond hearing, the spokesman said late Tuesday.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
