A concerned neighbor who called Alexandria Police because she couldn't contact her elderly neighbors led to officers finding the couple dead.
Alexandria Police and the Rapides Parish Coroner's Office ruled the deaths a murder-suicide, according to a press release.
On last Thursday, the neighbor called police after she couldn't contact George Marshall, 81, or his 83-year-old wife, Margie Marshall, at their Kirkpatrick Street house. When officers entered, they found both dead from gunshot wounds to their heads.
The investigation found that George Marshall shot Margie Marshall, and then shot himself.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
