LOUISA, VA. — A Louisa County woman accused of killing her boyfriend is facing a second murder charge in the death of her husband.
A grand jury in Amelia charged 61-year-old Ulisa M. Chavers on Tuesday with first-degree murder, larceny and defiling a body.
The remains of Chavers' second husband, Clent Chavers, were found in April 2009 buried in the backyard of a house in Amelia County where the couple formerly lived.
A Louisa grand jury charged Ulisa Chavers last week with first-degree murder in the death of her boyfriend, Reginal Cody Bowles. That indictment was unsealed Monday.
Bowles' body was found in a well on his property in Louisa in March 2009.
Authorities declined Tuesday to discuss the cause of either death.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
