TULSA, Ok. - The case of John Kastner has taken a lot of twists and turns since his wife was murdered in their west Tulsa home in June of 2008. He claimed his wife was shot by an intruder, who also supposedly shot him in the hand. Kastner was arrested and charged with the crime two days later. Then in January of this year, as the trial was supposed to start, Kastner's attorney filed a motion saying Kastner was insane. Kastner said that was irrelevant because he said he didn't kill his wife. He got a new attorney and now trial is set to begin again.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
