FLORENCE -- A judge has denied bond for a Lauderdale County man charged with capital murder in the killing of his estranged wife and ordered that he receive cancer treaments while in custody.
Attorneys for 45-year-old Tony Woods argued that he can't receive proper treatment for multiple myeloma while in jail.
Woods is accused of shooting 46-year-old Tammie Woods as she attempted to leave his home July 13.
Lauderdale District Attorney Chris Connolly urged Lauderdale District Court Judge Carole Medley to deny bond and argued Woods can receive proper medical treatment in jail.
After announcing her decision, Medley said she is open to scheduling additional hearings to discuss Tony Woods' medical care.
