A Fulton County jury found an Atlanta man guilty Friday in the 2009 stabbing death of his girlfriend.
Lester Waller, 35, was convicted Friday on murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and weapons possessions charges for repeatedly stabbing 26-year-old Sheena Martin to death, court officials said.
Martin's naked body was discovered on May 30 in the bedroom of her Dolphin Drive home with a knife lodged in her neck, and stab wounds in her chest and back.
Court authorities said the investigation showed that Waller, Martin's live-in boyfriend, had a history of abusing the young woman.
Reports of Martin being seen tied to a chair, and incidents like one in which she was beaten with a glass ashtray, were among the allegations levied against Waller by witnesses.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Doris Downs sentenced Waller to life in prison.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
