A city maintenance worker yesterday confessed to killing a mother and her young daughter in their Brooklyn apartment, authorities said.
Amahal Lynch, 20, worked at the Nostrand Houses in Sheepshead Bay where the woman, Shakeema Elliot, 29, lived, and had dated her off and on, sources said.
Lynch admitted to strangling the single mom and her daughter, Kaliya Williams, 8, early Sunday after he allegedly sodomized the little girl, sources said.
He then allegedly stripped the victims of their clothes and placed them in the partially filled bathtub.
Police found the bodies at 4:20 a.m. after a neighbor noticed the door to the apartment had been left ajar and called 911.
Lynch allegedly tried to cover his tracks by leaving pills at the scene to make the slayings look like a murder-suicide.
He was charged with two counts of murder, police said.
Neighbors had described Elliot as a devoted mother who had had problems with her boyfriend in the past but seemed happy lately.
