A Rock Creek man is being held in the Washington County Jail tonight on charges that he stabbed his wife to death this morning.
Washington County Sheriff's Office
Steven Perrault
A Washington County Sheriff's spokesman said Steven Perrault, 61, called the sheriff's department at 11 a.m. saying he had just killed his wife. Deputies who arrived at the scene found Christine Perrault, 59, still alive. She died a short time later of stab wounds. Sgt. Vance Stimler declined to say where she had been stabbed.
Perrault cooperated with deputies who arrested him, Stimler said. He is being charged with homicide. Police haven't determined a motive for the stabbing.
Stimler said the couple had been married for some time and had grown children, none of whom were in the house at the time.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
