An Indiana State Police officer shot and killed a Peru man after responding to a domestic dispute call.
A Miami County man is killed during a police action shooting Wednesday night.
Indiana State Police responded to a domestic dispute call at a home in the 500-block of East 2nd Street in Peru. When they got there, one of the officers went inside to speak with 39-year-old Stuart Wolfe.
At some point, police say Wolfe pointed a semi-automatic hand gun at an officer, and that's when the officer fired his weapon. Wolfe was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were four children in the home at the time of the shooting. They were not injured. Wolfe's girlfriend was injured allegedly during the domestic dispute.
The officer responsible for shooting Wolfe has been placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation. It is standard procedure.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
