BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A man is accused of killing his wife at the couple's Bridgeport home while their 11-year-old daughter was home, police said.
Frank Dore, 57, was charged Tuesday with murder in connection with the death of his wife, Patti Dore, 48.
Police said neighbors called police Tuesday morning to report hearing screams.
When officers arrived, police said Frank Dore told them his wife was upstairs. Police said Patti Dore had been shot. They said the couple's 11-year-old daughter was inside the house.
Police said the girl is the couple's only child, although Frank Dore has other children.
The daughter was with relatives Tuesday night.
Patti Door was employed in the Stamford Superior Court Clerk's Office. She had been working for the Judicial Department since 1999, and in Stamford since 2002.
Frank Dore's bond was set at $1 million.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?

I don't know them personally but I'm a relative of their neighbors and knew that they had many issues..He was very controlling and hardly never smiled. Always looked miserable..She on the other hand looked like she was being held down under his control. Patti will be missed. Like I mentioned didn't know her too much but her presence in her garden will be greatly missed. Riccarda(daughter) will be in our prayers...
I worked with Patti and I have to say I was in shock when I heard the news. Patti never said anything bad about him, at least not to me. I had the feeling that they had a good relationship. This acts as proof that we really never know and that there is still much more to be done to correct this violence we see.
