MAYWOOD, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities believe a rural
northeast Missouri man shot and killed his wife, then turned the gun on
himself.
Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn
said Monday that 67-year-old David Lavingon and his 59-year-old wife,
Kathy Lavingon, died as a result of murder-suicide. The bodies were
found Sunday in bed at their home near Maywood. Both had been shot in
the chest, and an autopsy determined that David Lavingon was the
shooter.
Shinn says a motive for the shooting is not known. Authorities believe the couple had been dead since Christmas night.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
