LONDONDERRY, N.H. -- The bodies of a man and woman were found in a Londonderry home Friday morning after what officials are calling a murder-suicide.
Authorities were called to the home at 11 Overlook Ave. at about 8 a.m. Friday after a family member found the bodies.
"We can tell you that the deceased people found in the residence were a man and a woman," said Assistant Attorney General Janice Rundels. "A man by the name of Michael McCartney and a woman by the name of Doreen Malek. They were the residents of the home, and they were the only residents of the house."
Authorities said they believe it was a murder-suicide, but they are waiting for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Officials said Malek, 49, had four grown children who were living on their own. Malek and McCartney, 49, lived at the home for more than 10 years. Rundles described them as being in a common-law marriage but would not describe their relationship further.
"The scene examination is ongoing by the Police Department, and the Police Department is looking into the background of these two people and determining exactly what happened and, if we can, why this happened," Rundles said.
The autopsies are scheduled for Saturday.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
