A South Florida man accused of living with his girlfriend's corpse for a month has been convicted of manslaughter in the woman's death.
A Broward County jury found 53-year-old Thomas Tuer guilty Monday for the June 2007 slaying of 37-year-old Deane Davis.
Tuer was arrested after neighbors at a Hollywood hotel repeatedly complained about the overpowering stench emanating the man's room.
Tuer told police he wrestled with Davis because he thought she was too drunk to drive and she stopped breathing. A defense attorney said there's no proof that Tuer caused the woman's death.
Tuer had previously rejected a plea agreement for 15 years in prison. He faces up to 30 years at his Feb. 12 sentencing.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
