LAS VEGAS (AP) ― Police say a man held in the slaying of his wife stabbed the woman with a kitchen knife after she refused to give him the car keys.
A police report says the couple's four children were in the northwest Las Vegas home when 49-year-old Farid Ashraf allegedly stabbed 30-year-old Hameeda Ashraf during a Saturday morning argument that started with accusations of infidelity.
Two of the children sought refuge with a neighbor, who summoned police.
Hameeda Ashraf was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.
Police say Farid Ashraf is deaf. Jail records showed he was being held Tuesday at the Clark County jail pending a court appearance on a felony murder charge.
