RULEVILLE, MS (WLBT) - A teenager is killed in a murder-suicide.
It happened around 4:00 Friday afternoon at Bianca keys' home in Ruleville. The seventeen year old Ruleville Central High School student was killed by 23-year-old Lavarus Bowman of Greenwood.
Using a nine millimeter handgun, he shot keys in the head and the neck. Bowman then turned the gun on himself.
Keys' younger cousin and grandmother were at the home and witnessed the fatal shooting.
"Domestic related. It's boyfriend/girlfriend where the female victim was looking to break up with the male subject and he ended her life," said Ben Grant, Ruleville Police Chief.
Prior to the incident, Bowman allegedly texted keys several times telling her he was planning on killing her.
Keys allegedly showed these texts to Ruleville Central High School officials.
