JACKSON, Miss. -- Jackson police were investigating a shooting Monday.
Police said Kyle Ferrell was shot in the face at about 10:30 a.m. at 1778 Cheswood Drive. Ferrell was listed in critical condition Monday at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Police said Ferrell, who is a former police officer, arrived at the home of his estranged wife and began arguing with a man who was there. The man then shot Ferrell, police said. Neighbors said Ferrell moved out of the house in December.
A woman who lives across the street from the home said that she heard five or six gunshots.
No arrests had been made but police took several people in for questioning, officials said.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
