IRVING, Texas — Authorities are investigating the gunshot deaths of a couple and their son who police said died in an apparent double murder-suicide.
Irving police spokesman David Tull said they were found in their Valley Ranch area home Wednesday morning.
The Dallas Morning News reports the victims are Chimandbhai Patel and his wife, Kantaben Patel, both 59, and their son, 29-year-old Hiran Patel.
Tull says there was no sign of forced entry and police aren't saying who fired the shots.
Public records indicated the family was having financial challenges. They operated Darshan Enterprises, Inc. and owned Hawthorn Suites hotel in Richardson. The state issued a tax forfeiture against them in July and they were not in good standing with the Comptroller's office.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
