HIDALGO COUNTY - A man who confessed to killing his wife and burying her body went before a judge today.
Jose Sidronio Perez, 54, went before a judge this afternoon at the Hidalgo County Jail.
He walked into the courtroom emotionless, handcuffed at the wrists and ankles.
Judge Charlie Espinoza gave Perez a $1 million bond.
Perez had little to say to our cameras after being charged and escorted out of the courtroom.
Perez confessed that he killed his wife, Agapita Perez, after he learned that she was having an affair with a man from Reynosa.
Yesterday, investigators were at Perez's home recovering the remains of his wife.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
