BOLIVAR, Pa. - State police say a husband and wife are dead following a murder-suicide in western Pennsylvania.
Police say a concerned relative asked them to check on Conrad and Jeannette Brinkos on Tuesday.
Troopers arrived to find 62-year-old Jeannette Brinkos dead of a gunshot wound to the head. Seventy-one-year-old Conrad Brinkos also died of a single gunshot wound to the head, which police and the Westmoreland County Coroner determined was self-inflicted.
Neighbors and family say Jeannette Brinkos retired from her job last year and that the couple had talked about traveling. They lived in Fairfield Township, about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh, since 2002.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
