LOS ANGELES—A Los Angeles jury has found a 45-year-old attorney guilty of shooting his girlfriend to death and assaulting his roommate.
The Superior Court panel deliberated for about a day before finding 45-year-old David Mahler guilty Tuesday of second-degree murder and assault.
Mahler was convicted of shooting Kristin Baldwin during an argument at his Hollywood Hills home in May 2007.
Her body was found in the desert near Barstow about three weeks later.
He was also convicted of assault with a firearm on Donald Van Develde, his roommate at the time.
He faces 40 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 9.
Mahler refused to leave his cell and was not in court for the verdict.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
