LEECHBURG, Pa. - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man shot and killed his estranged girlfriend and then took his own life.
Armstrong County Coroner Robert Bower says 30-year-old Jason Daugherty killed 25-year-old Vanessa Nickzad early Saturday at their home in Leechburg, about 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Bower says Daugherty then turned the gun on himself.
Leechburg police said a third person was wounded in the 12:05 a.m. Saturday shooting, but the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
