Rock Hill, SC: 31-year-old SC man indicted on charges he killed his 54-year-old girlfriend

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A grand jury has indicted a 31-year-old South Carolina man accused of killing his girlfriend in January.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports that Jimmy Charles Kendall III of Fort Mill faces murder, grand larceny and forgery charges.

He is charged with killing 54-year-old Linda Lee Hertzog, whose body was found in her Fort Mill apartment Jan. 5. Kendall was arrested three weeks later on a driving under suspension charge.

York County Coroner Sabrina Gast says Hertzog died of asphyxiation.

Prosecutor Kevin Brackett says his office is still awaiting the results of forensic tests. Kendall is in jail. His lawyer is a public defender.

Hertzog worked for Dimension Data in Charlotte, N.C. Her body was found after a company manager asked Fort Mill officers to check on her.
