Greenville County, SC: Woman: Knife-Wielding Ex-Boyfriend Shot, Killed

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -- Deputies are investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed late Thursday night.
A woman called 911 and said that her 45-year-old ex-boyfriend was armed with a knife and threatened people in the residence before he was shot.
Greenville County Deputy Matt Armstrong said, "(The man) came in there and began to assault two individuals. When he turned his attention to a third individual with a knife in his hand, he ended up being shot and ended up dying from his injuries.”
Scott Ramsey with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Erasmo Garza.
Deputies are not saying who shot and killed Garza. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
The shooting happened at a home on Sioux Drive near the intersection of White Horse Road and Augusta Road in the Donaldson Center area.
Armstrong said the names of those in the home will not be released.
Deputies said three children were in the home during the incident, but they were not injured.
The two people Garza assaulted received minor injuries, deputies said.
Deputies are conducting interviews with those who were inside the home during at the time of the shooting to see if any charges are warranted.

  1. It dont make sense how he assulted 2 people and all of a sudden he ended up with a knife and he got shot on his back it sounds suspicious

  2. He was good man and a good friend. Nobody deserves to die at the hands of another persons will. There are always two+ sides to a story of an event that is trying to explain some manic moment in ones life. It's unfortunate his story will never be told..the truth of matter never known. I miss you Eddie,will keep you in my heart and hope to see you again in my dreams.
