CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Police said a man broke into a home, pistol-whipped his ex-girlfriend and her sister and shot and killed their 42-year-old father Friday morning.
David Thompson was killed by a bullet to his head at 5:19 a.m. after the man broke into his house in the 7200 block of Ivy Avenue.
Police said the suspect, Clifford Jackson III, 34, a Cleveland man with a Sagittarius tattoo on his neck, broke into Thompson's house and shot him in the head. Jackson then turned the gun on other people in the house, but the gun misfired, so he used it to pistol-whip his ex-girlfriend, Donna Luster, 25, and her sister, Gloria Luster, 20, before fleeing on a bicycle.
Police said the woman had broken up with the man earlier in the morning.
Police said Jackson was possibly seen in the 6000 block of Woodland Avenue at the King-Kennedy Estates.
"Anyone assisting or harboring the suspect can face criminal prosecution," said Sgt. Sammy Morris in a news release.
