This morning will see a full scale counselling operation put in place at George Ranch High School in Fort Bend County after two of its staff were shot and killed. A football coach and an instructional coordinator at the school were found shot dead at a Motel on Friday night.
Three people in total were found dead at a Richmond motel. One man inside a motel room and a man and a woman outside the room. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murders at this time.
It is believed, though not confirmed, that the husband of the woman shot her and her lover before shooting himself. The motel was the Regency Suites off Highway 59. A hand gun was recovered from the scene.
The two dead members of staff from George Ranch High School are said to be football coach Trevor White and instructional coordinator Destiny Pickett. The other dead man was Mrs Pickett's estranged husband Clifford Pickett.
The school know that the deaths of the popular members of staff will have caused distress amongst the student body. A death of a school faculty member or student is always upsetting but the nature of these deaths will make it doubly difficult to cope with for some. To help staff and students cope a counselling team is being drafted in this Monday and will be available for the rest of the week.
Yesterday he family of Coach White released this statement:
"We would like to thank everyone for the love, support and prayers for our family at this difficult time. We are praying for all those impacted by the loss in this tragedy, especially all the children. We don't understand and no words can express our sadness. We are heartbroken. The family would appreciate privacy as we go through this difficult time."
