Concord, CA: UPDATE: Police identify people involved in last night's murder/suicide in Concord

The Concord Police have identified the two people involved in last night's murder/suicide on Bedford Road in the City of Concord, but they aren't saying which one's the suspect, and which one's the victim.
The following information is from the Concord Police....
SUBJECT: HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION
  • Frederik Meurer, 32 year-old male resident of Concord
  • Miranda Pretoli, 32 year-old female resident of Concord
Concord, CA (April 12, 2011) - On Monday, April 11, 2011 at about 8:30 PM, Concord Officers responded to the 2300 block of Bedford Road regarding a distress call. Officers arrived and conducted a preliminary investigation which led to the discovery of two people inside a residence, lying motionless on the floor. Both subjects were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. Based on the appearance of the scene, it appeared both decedents succumbed to gunshot wounds.
Concord Police Detectives have assumed this investigation. Based on the investigation thus far, it appears the two decedents were involved in a cohabitating relationship. The possibility of this incident involving murder/suicide components is being investigated. More information regarding the cause of death will be gleaned from autopsies, which are scheduled to occur later this week. Since this is a continuing investigation, the release of further information or pertinent investigative details will not occur to avoid compromising the investigation. Additional information regarding this case may be released in subsequent press releases.
Based on the investigation thus far, no suspects are believed to be outstanding.
