KENT COUNTY -- Convicted in the 2003 killing of his ex-wife, 57-year-old Paul Bernard will not get a new appeal in the case, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled today.
Bernard had asked the Supreme Court to hear his case, but justices wrote they were not convinced it had merit.
Mimi Bernard, 48, was found stabbed to death in her Cascade Township garage in April 2003. Paul Bernard was convicted of her murder in 2005 and he earlier lost an appeal with the state Court of Appeals.
Bernard is incarcerated at the Chippewa Correcectional Facility in the Upper Peninsula.
