A 60-year-old Tenino woman was allegedly beaten and killed with a dumbbell in Roy.
Pierce County Sheriff’s detectives responded to a call at 2 a.m. Wednesday from a 32-year-old man who claimed he had killed someone after being attacked.
Detectives arrived to 288th Street South in Roy and found the woman beaten and possibly run over by a vehicle, said Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Detective Ed Troyer.
The man was living with the woman at her Tenino home. Detectives believe the two had more than a landlord-tenant relationship, Troyer said.
The man was uninjured and preliminary investigation shows the woman was dead well before the man’s report, Troyer said.
Detectives arrested the man on first-degree murder charges.
The woman’s name is not being released because next of kin has not be notified.
