POMONA, Calif.—A Pomona jury has convicted a woman of murdering her husband and two young sons in their Southern California home in 2007.
Jurors convicted Manling Tsang Williams Thursday of three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her 27-year-old husband, Neal, and the couple's two sons, 3-year-old Ian and 7-year-old Devon. The panel also found true the special circumstances of lying in wait and multiple murders.
Prosecutors say Williams stabbed her husband to death with a sword and smothered their sons with a pillow.
Williams was arrested shortly after the killings.
The penalty phase of trial begins Friday. The same jury will be asked to recommend a penalty of death or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
