Mandeville, LA: Wife in Mandeville-area murder-suicide was beaten to death

The Mandeville-area woman slain in an apparent murder-suicide Monday morning was beaten to death and her husband died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office.
But unanswered questions still surround the case, which shocked residents in the sprawling Greenleaves subdivision off U.S. 190 near Mandeville.
St. Tammany Parish deputies were called to 6049 Chateau Loire Circle about 10 a.m. Monday when dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call but could not get a response from the person on the other end of the line. They found Sarah Lucille Glauda dead in the home's garage and Alfredo Glauda's body in the back yard.
Initially, deputies reported that Sarah Glauda had suffered a gunshot wound, but an autopsy performed Tuesday did not show such a wound, St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office Executive Director Melanie Croft said.
Instead, the examination revealed that Sarah Croft had been killed by blunt force trauma to the head, Croft said. Alfredo Croft died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, she said.
The Sheriff's Office did not provide any additional details on the case Tuesday.
Croft said she did not know whether a weapon was used in Sarah Glauda's beating or what kind of gun Alfredo Croft used when he killed himself.
Investigators have not yet released information on a possible motive.
