Police said the stabbing occurred when the couple was arguing about Earl Jackson apparently selling an all-terrain vehicle that belonged to Moniek Jenii George's children.
A man accused in the death of his common-law wife after her young son found her body on Christmas Day at her southwest Houston home is scheduled to appear in court today.
Earl Tyrone Jackson, 34, is charged with murdering Moniek Jenii George, 30, whose body was found about 4 p.m. Dec. 25 in an apartment in the 8800 block Gustine.
George had been stabbed several times and also beaten with a skateboard during an argument on Dec. 24, police said.
Jackson, who was arrested Dec. 28 and later charged, is being held in the Harris County Jail on no bail.
Investigators said George's family members went to the woman's apartment after they had been unable to contact her.
A family member said that George's 7-year-old son found the body.
The boy and his brother had been sleeping at a relative's home because their mother, a caregiver for the elderly, had been scheduled to work early Christmas Day.
Investigators said evidence indicated George had fiercely fought against Jackson during the attack.
