Man kills himself at State Police Barracks
KINGSTON – A man apparently despondent over a recent divorce killed himself in the parking lot of the State Police Barracks near Kingston, officials said.
The man, identified by police as Gregg Robinson, 63, of Woods road in Kingston, had a phone conversation with his ex-wife.
During the course of that conversation, he became more despondent and drove his vehicle to the rear of the barracks and got out with a rifle.
State Police members saw him and attempted to contact Robinson, but he shot himself before they could reach him.
His body was transported to Kingston Hospital pending an autopsy. The investigation is continuing.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
