LOVES PARK — Ryan A. Schiller, 26, was arrested today in connection with the weekend death of his girlfriend, Amanda Reed.
Schiller was charged with one count of aggravated domestic battery and is being held in lieu of bond in the Winnebago County Jail.
Reed, 27, was found dead early Saturday in her residence in the 5000 block of Beechwood Drive.
Results from an autopsy performed Sunday were inconclusive, and Reed’s cause of death has yet to be determined.
Loves Park police Chief Jim Puckett described Schiller and Reed as boyfriend and girlfriend.
It’s unknown how long the two had been dating and if there was a history of violence.
“We’re still doing the background part of this,” Puckett said. “We’re still talking to a lot of people.”

Ryan Schiller has been charged with 1st degree murder in the death of Amanda Reed.
Ryan was found guilty of murdering Amanda and was sentenced to 28 years. While we are grateful that he was found guilty we are shocked that he wasn't given a longer sentence. RIP beautiful Amanda
